Ubisoft releases video with 5 new features of Assassin's Creed Valhalla – Forgotten Saga

The new free DLC will add a new rogue-like mode to the franchise

While Ubisoft has not revealed details on the future of the Assassin's Creed saga, it continues to support Valhalla. Today, the company released a video showing five things players need to know about Forgotten Saga, a free DLC that promises a new gaming experience.

The main difference is the introduction of rogue-like elements to the series, which means that the new story is not supposed to be a one-time run but a game that you can return to several times, and, with each attempt, the player will most likely enjoy it differently by acquiring new powers and secrets that they hid throughout the world.

According to Ubisoft, paying attention to the Forgotten Saga scenarios will be essential for the user to survive. In addition to finding the way forward, the player can unlock secret rooms that grant new skills and status improvements for the main character, Odin. They also house merchants who can sell equipment upgrades and essential items to the player.

Clothes, decisions, and imminent dangers

The developer also explains that in Assassin's Creed Valhalla's new DLC, players will not have access to the main adventure's clothing and gear sets, meaning they will have to collect new options as they venture through the game.

These features make the exploration highlighted by the company even more important. While the weapons will vary each round, the clothing combinations collected will remain the same as those unlocked by the player.

Ubisoft also promises that death will be a constant in the new mode, proving necessary for player progression. With each defeat, there will be the opportunity to reinforce equipment and abilities, as well as the appearance of characters known to Odin that will enrich the game's plot and how much the player understands about the Norse god.

Finally, Forgotten Saga promises to bring Assassin's Creed Valhalla a series of side missions that complement the exploration aspect of its four main areas. To access the new content, players need to progress through the game's main adventure to the point where the realm of Asgard becomes accessible. The update does not yet have an official release date, but it should arrive in the coming months on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
