Imagine you could buy the upcoming (and last) FIFA edition for, let’s say, less than a cent? Oh yeah, you read right. But unfortunately, EA has really messed up this time with a pricing mixup. A couple of weeks ago, on multiple sites, people found that EA listed FIFA 23 on India’s Epic Store for 4.80 Indian rupees (instead of 3,499 rupees, as it should have been listed). That translates into $0.06, so you can see how fatal this mistake was.
And that’s not the worst part. The pricing error was found on the Ultimate Edition of FIFA 23. So, to sum it up, people were purchasing a copy with a 99.98% discount fair and square. Obviously, this didn’t take too long to backlash on social media.
lmfao epic games messed up the regional pricing and I just pre-ordered Fifa 23 for $0.05. #FIFA23 pic.twitter.com/pHeqb5ynZG

The super low price went on for a while until EA found out and quickly tried to address the situation: "We scored a pretty spectacular own-goal when we inadvertently offered FIFA 23 pre-purchase on the Epic Games Store at an incorrect price," the company wrote in a letter following its slip up. "It was our mistake, and we wanted to let you know that we'll be honoring all pre-purchases made at that price."
This huge mix-up undoubtedly has benefited tons of FIFA fans out there; good thing EA let them keep their copy (probably as a way of self-punishment, but still.)
