Fighting games aren't what they used to be, which is generally a good thing: there's more speed, a more expansive range of moves, and a broader range of characters and themes, allowing anyone to enter the world of fighting games.
But there is one thing many players overlook: local challenges, which allow you to turn a fighting game into a party game. MultiVersus is another game that, for the time being, is not interested at the moment in gamers playing on the same console.
For the time being, the game's director, Tony Huynh, is more focused on other updates to the game, such as experience stabilization, code improvements, damage and hitboxes, projectiles, interaction platforms, and so on.
It’ll be further out, our focus right now is stabilizing our experience. Netcode improvements, hurt/hitboxes, projectiles, platform interactions, etc.

Local games are, precisely, those that work offline with more than one player. That is, like in the old school, when there were player 1 and player 2, and they were connected to the same console.
In a co-op game, two or more players are part of the same team, meaning they do not compete against each other (like in a normal fighting game) but fight together against another team.
MultiVersus does not allow two players to be on the same PC or console and connect to the Internet to fight online against two other players (who may or may not be on the same console).
This means that if you want to team up with your family, partner, or friends, you will only be able to do so if everyone has their equipment to play with.
MultiVersus has reached over 10 million players worldwide, and it's available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
