An excellent day for strategy game lovers; in addition to the confirmation that Age of Empires 4 and Age of Empires 2 will be coming to Xbox in 2023, Microsoft also confirms the return of another classic of the genre, Age of Mythology, through a brand new version.
What do we know about Retold so far?
A spin-off of Age of Empires, the original Age of Mythology was initially released on PC in 2002, only to be re-released in 2014 on Steam through an Extended Edition. The new edition, Age of Mythology Retold, is described as the "Definitive Edition" of the popular strategy game all about Greek, Egyptian and Norse mythology, endowed with a charm and atmosphere quite different from those of the main strand.
Retold was announced through a teaser trailer lasting about one minute, which, however, does not show any gameplay sequences regarding this final version. All are also silent about a possible launch window. However, it has already been confirmed for release on PC and with availability immediately on day one in the PC Game Pass catalog. It is, in any case, assured that Retold will have "gorgeous graphics, updated gameplay, and more."
