Back in the summer, Final Fantasy XVI’s producer Naoki Yoshida shared with GameSpot that the next mainline entry in the Final Fantasy franchise was the most mature entry in the series and oh boy…they are keeping their word.
According to a reddit post in the old and reliable subreddit r/GamingLeaksAndRumours, Final Fantasy XVI has been rated in Brazil by the The Sistema de Classificação Indicativa Brasileiro which has determined that the game is “not recommended for children under 16”, due to “sexual content, sensitive issues and violence.
Oh but wait, they went as far as they could in detail and in their Game Analysis Summary you can read:
Extenuating circumstances: sex scenes not fully shown, violent content attenuated by scenes' direction.
Aggravating circumstances: violence with weapons, blood, intentional deaths, torture and victims suffering. Drugs, prostitution, sexual content both shown and talked about. Hate crimes.
In case you missed it: When is Final Fantasy XVI finally coming out?
A standout… no doubt
Well, Valisthea does not sound very friendly and we expected it, as the game is supposed to be set in a continent divided into six factions on the verge of conflict due to a spreading malady called the Blight.
Actually, its latest trailer called Ambition, released a month ago gave us an idea of what is about to come, in case you missed it we will leave it below:
Remember, Final Fantasy XVI is expected for a mid-2023 release exclusively for the PlayStation 5 for six months before making the jump on any other platform.
