After opening The Game Awards 2022 with the video reveal of Dead Cells Return to Castlevania, the guys from Motion Twin and Evil Empire detail the content of the gameplay experience promised by what, according to the developers themselves, will be the biggest Dead Cells expansion ever.
From the columns of the PlayStation Blog, the indie authors offer us a quick rundown on the narrative plot written in collaboration with Konami and, above all, on the activities to be performed while immersing ourselves in the atmosphere of this long-awaited DLC.
A DLC to die for
In Return to Castlevania, we will have to follow in the footsteps of the Belmont clan and make our way through Dracula's castle until we reach the Throne Room overlooking a complex structured in two massive levels filled with monsters and creatures of all sorts.
Accompanying us on this journey will be Alucard and Richter Belmont, who will guide us inside Dracula's Castle to dispense advice and provide us with powerful weapons such as the Vampire Slayer, the Combat Cross, the Holy Water and other iconic Castlevania equipment. The expansion's two unreleased biomes will be filled with hidden rooms and plenty of secrets to discover while listening to a reinvented 'Dead Cells-style' version of 12 historic Castlevania songs.

Dead Cells Return to Castlevania is scheduled to be released on PC and consoles in the first quarter of 2023. The title was first released in 2018, becoming very popular among platformer fans.
