The latest major Blizzard-branded free-to-play production continues to be at the center of a new video game media case following the recent events over the arrival of the Battle for Olympus event in Overwatch 2, which introduced some positive innovations and others that sparked community criticism.

An event full of flaws

As the community continues reiterating that the new Overwatch 2 event is the worst so far, some users have expressed disappointment about the recently introduced Widowmaker pay-to-lose skin. The whole thing, however, would stem from what would appear to be some serious issues directly related to the skin, which would adversely affect the gaming experience.

In detail, this has emerged from the reports of some players, in which it is pointed out that it is a punishing skin. "The new Medusa skin is so loud that it actively punishes the user who uses it. Not only can you not hear enemy footsteps, but you can't even hide. The enemy team can hear the snakes/hairs of the Medusa skin and pinpoint your location from them." The situation brought to light by Brian St. Pierre on Twitter is far from positive and adds to the countless player complaints that have held sway following the release of Overwatch 2.

However, what has most triggered the negative reactions of the users would be the paid nature of the skin: this cannot be obtained except by payment with real money, which further aggravates an inherently negative situation. The paradoxical drawback has never received fans' approval, who further describe themselves as dissatisfied even following the already criticized event.
