Roblox remains amid controversy over the type of content and its lousy filtering system. A minor was arrested by the Singapore authorities for disseminating extremist and terrorist content on the platform whose security system simply let it through.
A report from SCMP (via Kotaku) revealed that 2 young minors were detained by the authorities and will be in a surveillance center for a couple of years, as they were accused of spreading extremist ideas and expressing terrorist intentions on behalf of the Islamic State (ISIS). In the case at hand, it is a 15-year-old boy who used Roblox and one of its servers to create a representation of the conflict zones related to ISIS in Iraq and Syria.

Within this virtual space on Roblox, the minor pledged allegiance to the leadership of ISIS and frequently "played" to commit murder and terrorist acts against non-Muslims also assumed within the game as a spokesman and propagandist for the Islamic State and its radical ideology.
At the same time, the young man was fond of content on social networks and video platforms related to extreme right-wing, anti-Semitic, and neo-Nazi groups.
The report indicates that the detention and punishment, justified by Singapore's Internal Security Act that considers detention and punishment without trial in cases that threaten the country's security, is also related to the contact that the young Roblox player and the other detained minor had with an ISIS leader as a result of which one of them began to plan a terrorist attack against those who were not Muslims, according to statements made at the time of the arrest.

Recently, a video game developer alerted parents about Roblox demonstrating that its security system and filter for minors are a failure because all kinds of games include content with sexual themes, suicide, bullying, and extreme violence that goes unnoticed and is easily accessible to minors.
