Super Mario Bros. Wonder will be full of attractive new features, such as the arrival of Daisy as a playable character. Fans are happy with the news and many of them are wondering why Nintendo decided to include the princess in the new release.
Fortunately, we already have an official answer that will possibly baffle more than one gamer. The reason? The director of Super Mario Bros. Wonder revealed that Daisy was added to "avoid family fights".
Director of Super Mario Bros. Wonder explains the inclusion of Daisy
Shiro Mouri, in charge of the game, revealed a curious anecdote related to the franchise and his family: his daughters continually fought to choose Peach in the past games of the saga. For this reason, he had the idea of offering a very popular alternative to the players.
So, Daisy was thought of as a complement to Peach and as a character that would avoid fights like the ones that happened in Mouri's family. While Peach remains a more popular character, the developer believes Daisy is a great addition to the title, as there is a player base that adores the princess.
"This is a personal family anecdote but I have two daughters myself and when they played previous Mario titles, they would always fight over who gets to play Peach.
"Including Daisy will help resolve fights within my own household, and also I thought that having Daisy would be something that a lot of Mario fans would be happy with!" explained Mouri.
