The end of an era is near, as Hideki Kamiya, creator of Bayonetta and other popular franchises, will leave PlatinumGames this year. This was announced by the Japanese studio in a statement posted on its various social networks.
Shortly after, the developer posted a message on his personal networks and clarified that the decision was not an easy one to make. Despite this, he made it clear to all his fans that he will remain in the industry, as his goal is to continue creating great games.

"We regret to announce that Hideki Kamiya will be leaving PlatinumGames on October 12, 2023. We are truly grateful for his creative ideas, leadership, and contribution to the growth of PlatinumGames from our start-up to this very day," stated the studio in its press release.
The company took the opportunity to wish the developer the best of luck and assure that he will make great contributions to the industry in the future. However, it did not reveal what the creative's next step will be or what will happen with the development of the games he was working on.
"We believe that he will continue to succeed in his future endeavours as a game creator. We are looking forward to seeing the game industry grow into a better place with him in it. We wish him all the best for the future!"
For his part, Kamiya hinted that there were some differences and that, in the end, it was best to leave the company. He invited all gamers to stay tuned, as he will talk about his new projects in the future.
“As announced on the official PlatinumGames X account, I will be leaving PlatinumGames on October 12, 2023. This came after a lot of consideration based on my own beliefs. and was by no means an easy decision to make.
“However, I feel this outcome is for the best. I will continue to create in my Hideki Kamiya way. I hope you’ll keep your eyes peeled.”commented the creative," the creative said.
