The Five Nights at Freddy's movie had a great premiere and is already a success. Scott Cawthon, creator of the saga, is very satisfied with the results, so he published a special message to thank all the fans for their support to the project.
The developer took the opportunity to tell some curious anecdotes, as he confessed that he attended at least 4 shows during the opening weekend and nobody recognized him. Cawthon assured that he tried to visit the theaters in incognito mode and, apparently, he succeeded.
Scott Cawthon celebrates the success of the Five Nights at Freddy's movie
"Thanks everyone for making opening weekend such a big success. It was beyond my wildest dreams. I do read the comments and critiques, so while I'm glad most people had a great time at the movies, I'm definitely paying attention, and I wanted you all to know that.," Cawthon said.
The developer explained that he attended several showings on opening weekend and no one recognized him. This was because he was wearing glasses and also grew a beard. He said that some boyfriends who were dressed as Chica almost recognized him, but in the end they doubted his identity.
He also said that, at another show, a group of fans sat next to him. However, after a short time they changed places without even suspecting that they were so close to the creator of the franchise. He commented that last Friday's function was the one he enjoyed the most, as everyone was very happy and applauded.
"I went to another showing Saturday evening. I wore a Security Breach t-shirt. I was standing in line behind a young woman in a Freddy hat waiting for popcorn and drinks, and she turned and looked at me and just said, 'I like the shirt!'. That made my night" the creative finished.
