One of the surprises of The Game Awards 2023 was God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla, a free DLC that will arrive next week to the game from PlayStation and Santa Monica Studio. It is likely that you still have doubts about what this content will offer, so below we detail everything it will offer.

What is Valhalla, the DLC for God of War Ragnarök?

According to details, Valhalla will be an epilogue to the events that occurred in the base game. It will present us with a thoughtful adventure and personal journey of Kratos, who will visit the shores of Valhalla in the company of Mimir.

The implacable warrior will undergo a dangerous test, where he will face the echoes of his past and seek redemption after the fight with Odin and what happened with Atreus. The DLC will retain the game's combat mechanics, but will add new features such as roguelite elements.

Santa Monica explained that this content is independent from the main title, so players will be able to enjoy it whenever they want. Despite this, the studio recommended fans first finish the base title so as not to spoil any surprises related to skills, enemies, weapons and more.

What will Valhalla have to offer?

The DLC will give access to raids, where Kratos must prove his skills against waves of enemies. With each combat won, players will earn resources, which they can use to obtain permanent upgrades.

In this way, they will be able to progress more and more in this adventure, which will restart every time Kratos falls in combat.
