Due to the actors' and writers' strike in the United States for much of 2023, the development of several series and movies was paused. One of the affected productions was Season 2 of The Last of Us, and recently, the actor playing Joel suffered an accident that could further delay the project.
If you watched the 2024 Golden Globes, you probably noticed that actor Pedro Pascal, who portrays Joel Miller in the HBO series, appeared at the ceremony with a sling to immobilize his right arm.
What happened to Pedro Pascal? Will his accident affect The Last of Us?
It was a mystery why the actor appeared in those conditions at the ceremony, but shortly after, he revealed in an interview with Variety that he had an accident at his family's home, as he fell down the stairs.
"Be careful," the actor told The Associated Press. "It can happen to anyone."
The good news is that the incident did not escalate, but unfortunately, the actor will need surgery, which he will undergo later this month to correct the damage.

This is noteworthy since Pascal has a tight schedule, and one of the projects on the horizon is filming Season 2 of The Last of Us, which is set to begin in mid-February.
Despite being a surgical intervention, fortunately, it will not be anything serious, as the actor mentioned that he hopes to be ready when filming starts.
