After several reports and rumors, Xbox finally confirmed that it will bring at least 4 of its games to PlayStation and Nintendo consoles. The decision has generated doubts in the fans and even in some developers of the brand. For such reason, Phil Spencer, head of Microsoft Gaming, explained why they will take this new direction.

Via an internal statement, Phil Spencer detailed some of the changes Xbox will be making in the future. He took the opportunity to explain why they will bring several of their games to their competitors' consoles.

The executive stated that one of the trends in the industry is that people increasingly enjoy their games on multiple devices. However, he believes that there is still fragmentation and that this divides communities.

In addition, he thinks it creates higher costs for developers. For such a reason, Xbox wants to gradually build a unified experience, regardless of the devices and the business model that games follow.

"We have a different vision for the future of gaming. A future where players have a unified experience across devices. A future where players can easily discover a vast array of games with a diverse spectrum of business models.

"A future where more creators are empowered to realize their creative vision, reach a global audience, unite their communities, and succeed commercially. A future where every screen is an Xbox," Spencer commented.

Finally, he stated that his goal is for Xbox to have a presence everywhere, as this way it will be able to fulfill the promise it constantly repeats: that people can play the titles they want, with whomever they want, wherever they want.
