The industry is going through a period of instability that has resulted in waves of layoffs and studio closures. No one has been spared from this unfortunate situation, not even big companies like Sony and PlayStation.

Earlier this year, the companies announced the layoff of 900 employees from their video game division and also confirmed that London Studio's days were numbered. The closure of said studio is very close, so its members decided to say goodbye to gamers with an emotional message.

London Studio was founded in 2002 and is known for titles such as PlayStation VR Worlds, SingStar Celebration and Blood & Truth. Before its closure, it was working on a new IP for PlayStation 5 that was not revealed and is unlikely to see the light of day.

Months ago, fans lamented the news about its closure and complained to Sony for the dismissal of so many creatives. Now, London Studio decided to publish in social networks a special message to thank and say goodbye to the people who enjoyed their games.

"For over 20 years London Studio has been home to some exceptionally talented and wonderful people in the games industry. As we close the doors, and all go forward to new adventures, we wanted to say a heartfelt thank you, to all our past and present, players and colleagues who have supported us over the years. We've had one wild and wonderful journey!" wrote the studio.

Fans reciprocated and also thanked the studio for all their work. They affirmed that London Studio will always be part of PlayStation's history and that its games contributed to create its DNA. They also acknowledged the great talent of its developers and creatives.
