This weekend was a great time for fighting game fans, not just because EVO 2024 is taking place, but also because there were several important announcements for the genre, including MultiVersus, which just revealed 2 new characters.
A few months ago, MultiVersus officially debuted, and as time flies, next week will mark the start of its Season 2. Naturally, this will bring a lot of new content to the game, including 2 new characters whose identities we already know.

When will Samurai Jack and Beetlejuice arrive in MultiVersus?
The fighters in question are Samurai Jack and Beetlejuice. The first is the protagonist of the eponymous cartoon aired on Cartoon Network through Adult Swim in the early 2000s, while the second is the character known from the horror-comedy movie of the same name from the late 80s.
The samurai will be available next week, precisely on July 23. Those eager to play as Beetlejuice will need to be a bit more patient, as the character will be added later in Season 2: Back in Time.
Samurai Jack won't come alone, as the same update will introduce 1 vs. 1 and 2 vs. 2 ranked matches, which will test players' skills and reward the most skilled with exclusive rewards, including 3 alternative skins for Samurai Jack.
Samurai Jack will belong to the Bruiser class, and in the gameplay video, he can be seen using a variety of techniques to defeat his opponents, accompanied by his trusty katana, of course. Additionally, the video confirms there will be an alternate outfit, Righteous Warrior Jack, which can be purchased in the game. No gameplay was shown for Beetlejuice beyond a clip showcasing his model in the game.

Lastly, it was also revealed that Season 2 of MultiVersus will bring the new Water Tower, which, as its name suggests, features the iconic Warner Bros. water tower.
