Surprisingly, Epic Games and Elon Musk confirmed a collaboration to bring Tesla's Cybertruck to Fortnite: Battle Royale. The announcement excited some fans of the truck and followers of the magnate; however, the vehicle's launch also generated some controversies on social media.

Several Epic Games developers publicly expressed their dissatisfaction with Elon Musk and the crossover with Tesla. This is due to their disagreement with the magnate's ideas on various topics. Additionally, part of the player community also expressed disappointment with the arrival of the Cybertruck in the Battle Royale. They even called for not using the vehicle and banding together to take down players showing it off in their matches.

Kyle Wynn, producer of Fortnite Festival, was one of the first Epic Games creatives to oppose the Cybertruck's arrival in the game. Despite the vehicle being a free reward, the developer recommended fans always vote with their wallets.

In the same message, he stated that the vehicle is hideous and lashed out at Elon Musk, Tesla's CEO. “ That truck looks fucking silly and the CEO of that company is a piece of shit,” Wynn said.

Another Epic Games creative invited players to destroy every Cybertruck they see in the game as a form of protest and to show their disagreement with both the collaboration and Musk's ideas.

In both cases, the creatives made it clear that these are their opinions and do not represent the stance of Epic Games or the rest of their developers. Some players supported these opinions and stated they would destroy every Tesla vehicle they see on the map.

Initially, it was believed that the Cybertruck would be paid content offered in the Battle Royale shop. This caused some players to protest, as they were unwilling to invest in anything related to Elon Musk. Later, Epic Games confirmed that the truck is a free reward that interested players can obtain by completing various missions.
