PlayStation will host a new edition of State of Play this afternoon, promising news on more than 20 games. It seems that one of the event's announcements was leaked moments ago due to a mistake on their PlayStation Network page.
For weeks, there has been information about a possible remaster of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, the classic from Crystal Dynamics that originally debuted in 1999. In case you don’t remember, figures from the franchise were presented at San Diego Comic-Con 2024 with packaging mentioning the remaster.
It seems it's only a matter of time before it's revealed, as PlayStation Network prematurely displayed Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered, which we will likely see during the State of Play.
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver returns with remasters
PlayStation Network briefly showed the page for Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered, a project that has not been confirmed or officially announced yet. Shortly after, the page disappeared, indicating it was leaked by mistake.
The game description mentions it’s a package that includes both entries of the saga with improved graphics. Additionally, the leak reveals that players will be able to enjoy the titles remastered or in their original version.
According to the details, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered will arrive to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the saga. It is also mentioned that both projects were developed by Aspyr.
Regarding the release date, we know the titles will be available at the end of the year. To be exact, they will launch on December 10. It's almost certain they will be a multiplatform release, but for now, there is no information about the systems on which they will be available.
